Harriet the Tortoise recently suffered a heart attack recently and died at the ripe old age of 176. Can you imagine living 176 years?
She was born around 1830. Charles Darwin himself collected her when he visited the Galápagos Islands in 1835. Too bad she is only a tortoise and she didn’t keep a journal (or have a blog).
For those who have seen Finding Nemo know that tortoises commonly live much longer lives than humans, often up to 150 years. For some reason I think that is incredible. Come to think of it, it may be boring being a tortoise for that long.

I imagine 176 years of journal writing or blogging would have turned out something like this:
“Walked another two feet today… should be back under the tree by March.”
That’s a very long time to be boring and slow.
