MLB is Stupid

I have to give my commentary on how stupid Major League Baseball is for preventing fantasy leagues from using player stats and names without paying them lots of money (story).

How can they say they own something like that? Do newspapers have to pay to show box scores? When’s the last time you read an article in your newpaper saying that number 13 for the Yankees had a couple of hits and he hit one really far as well?

What does it take for MLB to realize that the fantasy leagues, both big and small, are what have kept interest in the game? Up until this year, I was in a fantasy league. I stopped because of lack of time and interest. But I do know that when I was in fantasy league I payed a lot more attention to the league.

And good for the judge who told them the info needed to operate a fantasy league is public domain. No license necessary. Now ESPN and Yahoo shouldn’t have to pay to operate their leagues. Give ‘em back their money MLB!

Haven’t you ever heard of the saying “Don’t buy the hand that feeds you”. MLB, I offer this free advice to you. Perhaps you can save some fans, like me.

I’ve heard of not “biting” the hand that feeds you… I’ve never tried to buy a hand at all. I wonder what one of those would run you. Just kidding, Josh! I think this is a fine point… but I already told you that in the car yesterday. I get way more into professional sports when I have a fantasy team. Why would they want to limit interest in their league? I have a hard time watching baseball at all, though. If there were more live bears on the field, then I’d watch… and have a fantasy team of all bears.

Josh, this is exactly why I refuse to watch or follow baseball. I still play fantasy, but I used to be an avid baseball fan. I have now been converted to Futbolism.

The EPL starts this Saturday. Here is a link to one of the best articles I have ever read. It also touches on his conversion to the boring game of Soccer. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/060719

You two futbol idiots. There is no way on God’s green earth that Baseball is stupid or should lead anyone into liking that sport with no hands. So what if baseball is trying to get a little richer. Why don’t we get mad at Football while we’re at it for selling the rights of the names and teams to EA so they can have exclusive rights for Madden. If a judge said they didn’t have the right, then fine, but why not try? It’s all a business anyway isn’t it?
