Up until last week, I was getting lots of comment spam. Getting about 80 comments about things I don’t want discussed on this blog was way too much. Although I had the tools to quickly delete the comments, I was getting very annoyed by it. Every time I get a comment, it gets emailed to me. Consequently, it filling up my email inbox.
So I decided to finally do something about it. I thought about installing a captcha but that seemed like too much trouble. I found out that many people that are using Wordpress (my blogging software) are very satisfied with Akismet.
Since I installed it last Thursday, I have gotten a little comment spam (3 to be exact). But I am very happy with it. And it was easy to install as well. I only needed to request a free API key.
If any of you notice that your comments aren’t posting immediately, please let me know.

Those comments were from me, Josh… those weren’t spam. I really thought you might be interested in… well, I can’t say it or your “word censoring” will catch it and automatically delete it.
