The Hype For The Playstation 3 is Dwindling

Today I was at Gamestop just looking around. They had just received a shipment of PS3s. I decided to buy with every intention of turning around to sell it on ebay. After carrying the beastly thing back to the office, I checked out the PS3 auctions. There were over 18,000 search results returned. But hardly any of the auctions had bids on them.

All of the people who were willing to spend so much had already gotten their fix. Now it seems like people are maybe willing to buy at suggested retail. Most seem willing to wait a year or two to get their PS3.

It is obvious that Sony did a terrible job at getting enough supply to meet the initial demand for their new console. Everybody wants a Wii because of the fun gameplay. Nintendo is on fire this holiday season. Last week they sold almost 1 milliion DSs. I’m a Nintendo fanboy because the gameplay is fun.

I am interested to see what Sony is going to do. It’s obvious that big-time gamers will get their PS3. But what are they going to do to create hype and make it the thing to get. They act like they aren’t even interested in doing something like that.

Nintendo has done a fantastic job creating hype their gaming systems. They are doing everything right. Go Nintendo.

I have to admit, I have only spent about 15 minutes on the new Nintendo Wii the other night, but it was really fun. Wednesday night, I went to my friends house for a Madden 07 tournament on the new PS3. I was really excited to play the PS3. The graphics on the PS3 are out of this world, and I enjoyed playing during the tournament. However, the console seemed to have problems processing all of the data. At times it seemed that the console was three or four selections behind what I was doing with the controller. As I was calling a play, I was continually waiting for the console to display all of the play selections available for me to pick from. It was actually kind of frustrating and I found myself selecting one of the buttons and then having to wait for the correct displays to come up. I didn’t play any other games on the PS3, but for my money, I would still be willing to look at either the Xbox 360 or Wii.
