I found this about a week ago and have been wanting to write about it since. The Utah Jazz are launching a “fan and team-operated blog“. What an awesome idea!
I have been wanting to write about it to get the word out. The more entries would make the blog that much better. But the entries were due at midnight on July 23 (I’m assuming MST). I got my entry in 7 minutes early. Each entry must include an essay explaining why you should be a writer for the blog.
Apparently, they’re looking to fill eight positions. In my essay, I took the position of a young working professional (despite being unemployed) that lives in a different market than Utah.
Even if I don’t get selected, I hope the blog turns out to be entertaining. I do wonder how they would handle incidents such as that ref and his gambling habits. Would the Jazz let the bloggers speak their mind or would they tell the bloggers to not write a word about it? I hope they don’t restrict the bloggers in any way. That is one of the great assets that a blog provides.
Speaking of Jazz blogs, there is one that I have found and am subscribed to - UtahJazzBlog.net. It’s pretty good. Except they expect me to login to write a comment and they only provide a partial RSS feed. I’ve seen others but I don’t feel compelled to subscribe to them. What Jazz blogs are you all reading?

I’m not reading any Jazz blogs… actually, this post right here that I just read is the closest I’ve ever come to reading a Jazz blog. I don’t follow the NBA much until playoff time normally. I always know how the Jazz are doing, but I don’t think I’d be a very good Jazz blogger. I could draw pictures of the Jazz, though. Maybe you should be a Sonics blogger, Josh. That would be cool if the Jazz blog chose you as a writer… then I’d read it. Maybe I still will anyway.
Come on over! http://www.basketballjohn.com
I came across it as well, and decided to go for it. I am a girl, but have been a rabid jazz fan my entire life. Thanks to my father, of course. I wish you the best of luck! I was selected for an interview. It is on Saturday.
I also hope that they don’t restrict the Jazz bloggers in anyway. I am very much a girl who speaks her own mind. In fact, I was very outspoken about the ref deal and about AK. I have a jazz blog on sportingnews.com. My username is holly_06. You should join and add me as a friend on there! I’m sure your blog would make a great addition on that site.
