Last night I went to the Glen Phillips concert. He is my all-time favorite musician. I first heard his music when he was the lead singer for Toad the Wet Sprocket. He was great then and he is having a good solo career.
Take a look at his MySpace page. He’s got some music and other stuff to take a look at.
I have seen Toad the Wet Sprocket twice. This was the first time I had seen him solo. It was awesome. He talked a lot more and was way more personable with the crowd. He’s a pretty funny guy. And he had shoes on this time!
The concert was at The Triple Door, a club in downtown Seattle. We got to sit right on the front row. It think this was the best one of his concert’s that I have been to.
I would post some pictures but I can’t. I actually brought my camera and after the first picture, it told me that the batteries needed to be recharged. Nice. I was on the front row of the Glen Phillips concert and had a dead camera battery. Just my luck! I quickly left and bought a disposable camera with a flash. Needless to say, I was embarrassed taking picture with it. I got some but I have to get them developed. Grrr.
Being in the front row, we were at the end of the line to get out of the building. As we were walking out, we noticed Glen Phillips was talking to fans over by where they were selling CDs. We went over and bought a few of his CDs (the one’s we didn’t have) and we then talked to him for a minute or two. I thought that was cool that he was doing that. I asked him why he was wearing shoes this time. He apparently got sick of people asking him about that so he has to mix it up now. He also signed the CDs. I also got a picture with him (with the disposable camera. embarrassing!).
He also mentioned that he will be coming out with a new album in the fall. This one will not be a solo. Apparently, he will have a new band. They are still trying to decide on a band name. He played some of the music from it. Good stuff. I’m excited.

Ha, ha…you had to use a disposable camera. That’s funny. Did you get the pics developed yet? I can’t imagine NOT having a digital camera anymore…
